Serenity the Sea Turtle

There is a sea where islands rise green and steep from the water, and the reefs beneath them are small cities of light. At the warm center of one reef, in a home the coral dreamed long before he was born, lives a young turtle named Serenity.

His world is made of rings. The turtle-grass commons. The coral streets. The bright crest where the ocean booms. Beyond the crest lies the blue that has no walls.

One day the sea takes him there.

This is the story of what he loses in the deep, what he finds among the sunken stones, and the long way home to the one who waits. It is a story told in tides, going out and coming back and arriving changed. Feelings move through it like weather. Wisdom is never announced. It is left where a child can find it.

Serenity began as a letter from a father to a daughter. It grew into a fable for all ages, meant to be read aloud, worn soft, and handed down. A small book about a large art: the art of growing quiet enough to hear.
